TAIPEI, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Two more confirmed COVID-19 cases contracted in a hospital cluster in Taiwan were reported on Sunday, bringing the total number of the cluster cases to 15, the local epidemic monitoring agency said.
The two new cases are a former inpatient of the hospital, located in Taoyuan of northern Taiwan, and his relative, the agency said at a press briefing.
Since Jan. 12, the hospital cluster had infected 15 people, including doctors, nurses, inpatients and others, the agency added.
The hospital has started to sanitize the ward where the patients had stayed and areas inside the hospital they had been to. It has asked all the patients, who had been to these areas since Jan. 6, to be quarantined at home and get tested.
The island also reported three new imported COVID-19 cases on Sunday, which arrived from South Africa and the United States.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Taiwan has risen to 889 as of Sunday. Seven have died, 787 have recovered and 95 remain hospitalized, according to the agency.
