16 Aug 2020, 04:12 GMT+10

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sphelele Mkhulise heaped praise on Gaston Sirino for his role in securing a point for Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday.

Sirino played a perfect ball for Mkhulise to head home a vital equaliser, on 40 minutes at Dobsonville Stadium after Peter Shalulile opened the scoring on six minutes.

Speaking after the game, a grateful Mkhulise explained the importance of Sirino to the Premiership title chasing side.

He was reported on KickOff as saying: "As you know, Sirino is a very important player for us so the moment I saw him with the ball I made that run because I know that he will pass me so I think it was a beautiful goal. So I would like to thank him as well for the assist.

"Coming here we wanted to win the game, but we will take a point. I think we worked very hard and we were playing against a very hard team so I think we'll take the point and move forward."

The draw was Sundowns' second of the restart after they were held to a 0-0 stalemate with Orlando Pirates.

Up next for Sundowns is a clash with Cape Town City on Monday.

Kick-off is at 18:00.
